Hobby Hatchers
A few years ago I bought six mixed laying hens to satisfy a need for good eggs for my love of baking. I never imagined that a few garden hens would grow into such a passion for both me and my family. We have hatched hundreds of eggs since then yet still get excited by every single one, hence all our stock already being used to children and 'cuddles'.

Poultry Matters
Like many others, we have been bitten by the poultry keepers bug. We started with a few ex-battery hens and 6 Black Rocks and now have about 80 breeding birds with at least two strains of each breed.We now also have some stunning hybrid birds. These birds are bred to lay very good numbers of eggs and the look good too! We have a lovely selection of colours. They come in Blue/grey, Black,Sussex(black &white) and Barred.
So if you want variety in your hens then these are the birds for you.

Chapel Chickens
Barnevelders are a pure breed, heavy soft feather bird. Ours are double laced black on dark brown with a lovely beetle-green sheen. Very friendly and robust. Good layers of nice dark brown eggs.

Chapel Chickens
Large, soft feather birds, double laced with a lovely beetle-green sheen. Calm and friendly but take care if mixing with other breeds as Barnevelders may get bullied. Like to forage but don't object to confinement in a decent sized run. Lay nice dark brown eggs.
November 2011 - we currently have no birds due to loss by disease. We are starting afresh in the spring with new bloodlines. Try again then.
