Easy Jams Chutneys Preseves

Simple, wholesome and delicious - homemade jams and preserves by Val & John Harrison

We show you how easy it is to make your own jams, jellies, marmalades, chutneys, pickles, fruit butters and cheeses.

If you grow your own fruit and veg this is an ideal way to use the surplus. You can make the most of delicious food for free - even in towns, fruits like blackberries can be found growing plentifully.

To get you started, we're giving away a £5.00 Off voucher when you spend £25.00 or more online with Harrod Horticulture who stock jam making equipment as well as gardening tools etc.

We've been making our own jams and preserves for 30 years and this is how we do it. There are traditional favourites like Old English Marmalade as well as more unusual treats such as peach conserve with brandy.

Praise for Easy Jams, Chutneys & Preserves

"What a book!!! From the time it arrived I havn't put it down! I've never made jams, chutneys ect before but can't stop now. This book makes it so easy. Takes all the fear out of jam making. Oh and not just jams ....but that's for you to find out when you get the book"
Mrs Samantha Collett

"A very easy to read book with loads of help, advice, recipes and what to do when you get it wrong. Would highly recommend to those thinking of how to deal with the glut of food in the fridge and freezer post harvest. "
Chicken Girl

"If it's your first foray into jams, preserves or chutneys, this is the ideal book to use.
It's informative and the recipes are very easy to follow.
I now have several shelves of jams and chutneys, made from homegrown produce so I'll be enjoying them until it's time to make some more.
"
Mrs P Geist

"I'm not much of a chutney maker usually but I've had to rearrange my kitchen cupboards to store all the stuff I've made from this book. Good, clear instructions and quite a range of things to try. A godsend in the middle of an allotment marrow and tomato glut. It would make a great present too - as do the jars of chutney! I might branch out into jam soon."

Reviews for Vegetable Growing Month by Month

John's book offers down to earth advice in a friendly chatty way, keeping an eye to simplicity (and the "have a go spirit") but also offering useful knowledge to help ensure success - Sal

You can spend three times as much as this book costs and get lots of glossy photo's and an impressive looking bookcase., but that's all. I doubt if this Book will spend much time on the bookcase anyway. - Mr R Cannon

Reviews for The Essential Allotment Guide

I've been an allotment holder for years and wish I'd have had this to hand when I started out. So glad I've got it now, who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
In his work Mr Harrison's love for gardening comes forth as does his enthusiasm for cost effective food growing. Not a coffee table book but a real book for reading and using.
