Use a PowerSafer on up to 5 TV and audio-visual devices, such as your TV, DVD player, Freeview box etc and it will: stop energy being wasted from standby mode; reduce your electricity bill; extend your appliances' life by around 15%; and help you reduce your carbon footprint.

Did you know that leaving products like your TV, DVD player, games console, hometheatre, Sky box or Hi-Fi on standby :

* uses approximately 70% of their "on" power?
* reduces their life by around 15%
* causes CO2 emissions that harm the environment and add to global warming?

In the UK around 15million TVs are left on standby for 20 hours per day. If they were all switched off, we'd save enough energy to decommission an entire power station.

How does it work?

Plug the PowerSafer into the mains, Audio Visual appliances (like your TV, DVD, Sky box etc) into an extension panel, and plug that into the PowerSafer. When you put your device into stand-by mode there is a detectable drop in power. 10 seconds after PowerSafer detects this drop in power, it cuts the electricity supply to your appliances. While in this off mode, PowerSafer itself consumes less than 0.3 Watts of electricity.

To turn the appliance on again, use your remote and the PowerSafer automatically switches on (through its own infra red sensor), sending power to your appliances. You may have to press the button on your remote twice - once to wake up PowerSafer, and once to control the device which will still be in standby mode.
