This Standby + Remote by Ecosavers is a remote controlled electrical socket that lets you switch appliances off completely so that they use no electricity rather than leaving them on standby, unnecessarily using electricity that is costing you money and contributing to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The standby remote socket can have as many devices connected to it as is safe (up to 3 watts) - generally using a four or six-way block, and you operate it with the included remote control.

Many domestic appliances have a standby mode - you may think you have switched your TV or DVD off but it is still using electricity to stay in standby. This unnecessary electricity consumption is costing you money and is directly contributing to increased carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Every appliance consumes a different amount of electricity when it is on standby. A typical home entertainment stack of TV, DVD, digital TV set-top box, a video recorder and a stereo hi-fi system costs about £40* a year while on standby.

The power rating of the Standby + Remote is 2.8kW so the combined power use of the appliances you connect must not exceed this. You should also check the rated power of your electrical sockets.

The Standby + Remote control has four pairs of 'ON/OFF' buttons numbered 1 to 4. Each of these pairs represents a zone. You can connect as many sockets as you want to each zone so for example you could put you TV, DVD, digital TV box and stereo on zone 1, all of your table and free standing lights on zone 2, the TV and DVD in your bedroom on zone 3 etc.

It also works with lights, computers and computer peripherals.

You can set up the included remote to control up to four individual Standby Remote sockets using buttons 1 to 4, or you can set up zones of Standby Remote sockets with more than one socket being controlled by each set of buttons.

Expandable to any number of sockets per zone. Maximum 4 zones.
Max range: 20 metres.
